![]() ![]() I can just see a thumb nail, which is Ok because I can see it. Then I can put them on a thumb drive for the sewing machine. I have figured out that I can buy designs and save them on my Mac which is very nice. I have a PC that I keep just to do big lettering. I check periodically to see if there is anything new on my Mac that will help me with embroidery. ![]() Need one more piece to get a 5 star rating Thanks a lot for your kind review & enjoy □ Those two resources have a lot of information. In every case I found what I needed in StitchBuddy>Help and StitchBuddy>Help>Support Website. However, I could not locate several functions that I knew had to be available. Therefor, the StitchBuddy user interface was mostly intuitive. I have worked with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator for many years. I am a novice at machine embroidery but am an experienced computer professional. > We can create our own designs from scratch. > We can make changes to the designs we have purchased. > It displays designs with the thread colors we choose. > It displays and prints PES files including dieline files at 100% scale. (We have Macs in our home.)įinally, I discovered Stitch Buddy. When investigating available machine embroidery design software packages we found most are very expensive and would only work on MS Windows. However, we desired to create some of our own designs for specific needs. We recently purchased a Baby Lock Flare and very much enjoy the multitude of designs available from various websites. Thanks, Matthias and Fröhliche Weihnachten. Support from the developer could not be better. I felt comfortable with the GUI and was able to learn what I needed for the task at hand. I highly recommend StitchBuddy for combining and modifying existing embroidery designs. When I got up this morning (Christmas Eve!) I found an email explaining why what I was attempting wasn’t working as well as the modified design file - a delightful early Christmas present. He asked for screen shots and the design file I was attempting to modify so I sent them then went to bed. What I was doing wasn’t working so I emailed the developer and got an almost immediate response. I was attempting to combine 3 layers of appliqués and delete stitches that would be under one or more layers. StitchBuddy provides exactly what I need at a reasonable cost. What I do need, however, is a way to combine and/or modify existing designs. I’m just getting started in the world of embroidery and, at this stage, have no need to create my own designs. StitchBuddy has been the perfect tool for me to use. Maybe you'd like to provide it to my support email address I'd love to further investigate the corrupted file, because under normal conditions StitchBuddy is handling errors quite gracefully. Unfortunately there is little I can do about it. For Pfaff / Husqvarna machines it is really a shame, but I couldn't reverse-engineer these files good enough to support VIP / HUS files at all, and VP3 can only be read. StitchBuddy's capabilities to read / write embroidery designs are limited by vendors not sharing details of proprietary file formats. I had to quit the program and relaunch it to read good files. ![]() Further attempts to read known-good files failed in the same way. StitchBuddy gave no indication that anything was wrong except a silent failure to display the file's window. The first file I tried to load after downloading StitchBuddy happened to be a corrupted VP3 file. Keeping my rating from being five stars, however, is that the program should be able to recover from attempting to read a corrupted file. Developer support is amazingly fast and helpful, a feature that you don't see until after you've bought the program and one that is much appreciated. It does what it claims to do, and it is remakably easy to use. StitchBuddy is capable and generally well designed. ![]()
